Jazz Theory

A Dance-Jazz Collaboration with Jeremy Carter, Presented by projectALCHEMY

It’s the tap of the snare drum. The flare in the fingertips. The rumble of the bass. The sway of hips. The melodic sounds of the sax that pour into your body sweet like honey. It’s the unshakable yearning in your bones to jump and jive. This is the power of Jazz.

projectALCHEMY, lead by Studio@620 Artist in Residence Alex Jones, is teaming up with Jazz Icon Jeremy Carter, and his band, for an evening of music and dance in the house of Bob Devin Jones and David Ellis. Jazz Theory explores the jazz music and dance as ritual, conjuring up sensations of the past and creating new memories to be unlocked in the future. Each song, each movement holds a history, and this event dives deeper into those curiosities of that power. So join us for a night of music and dance--let the stories unfold.

Jazz Theory is Friday, February 14th and Saturday, February 15th at 7:30p at the Studio@620--a perfect event for your Valentine’s Day Weekend. Hear favorites like Killing Me Softly, My Funny Valentine, and Jitterbug Waltz. Enjoy small appetizers and beer and wine from St. Pete local breweries. Don’t miss this event. Save your seat today!
