The creative work lives in the bodies of our company artists. Through diverse movement lineages and embodied perspectives, each dancer contributes to the evolving language of the company, from research to performance to community engagement.

collaborating artists

A performer is dancing on stage in front of an audience sitting in chairs. The audience includes men and women watching the performance. To the right, a musician is playing a saxophone. The room has artwork on the walls and purple ceiling lights.

Our work is shaped through collaboration beyond the dance studio.

Community collaborators are artists working across disciplines who have contributed to — and continue to shape — projectALCHEMY’s creative ecosystem. These collaborators expand the language of the work, bringing new perspectives, tools, and ways of thinking into each process.

Artists we collaborate with span:

  • Visual and scenic arts

  • Photography and film

  • Wordsmithing and storytelling

  • Theatre and performance

  • Music and sound

Some join us for a single project or event; others return across seasons. Each collaboration is rooted in shared inquiry, trust, and curiosity — allowing dance to exist in conversation with other forms of expression.

A man with a beard wearing a beanie, denim jacket, and white sneakers, sitting on stairs outdoors with greenery in the background.
A woman with curly hair smiling at the camera, wearing a dark sweater, in a room with bookshelves and a wooden ceiling.

These interdisciplinary relationships are essential to our practice. They allow the work to stretch beyond a single medium and invite audiences into layered, immersive experiences that reflect the complexity of contemporary performance.

Collaboration is not an add-on — it is part of the practice.

project-based artists

Project-based artists join us for a specific work, event, or creative process, bringing their own movement language and perspective into the room. Some collaborate for a single project, while others return across seasons as new ideas unfold. Each collaboration shapes the work in real time and leaves a lasting trace.
