H O M E

please make yourself at HOME.

explore the meaning of home in relationship to physical location, body, and spirit.

Be at home with how you live or create. Be at home with your past. Be at home in how you love.

PLAY

Music Artists: Christine Kono-Pohlmann, Dimitrios Kraniotis, and Gwen Bunn

Venture into my world. Improvisation, how I come up with movement, and what inspires me is how I play. My means of play can be found in my use of Oracle and Tarot cards, sometimes its the dancers in the room, sometimes its the music, sometimes its whatever is in my my life.

Play is how I make work.

MEMORY

Music Artists: Maxwell and Ty’s Music

A literal depiction of “How did I get here?”

What is my movement about? Memory is dedicated to a very special woman in my life Mattie Lou Smith who passed away in 2021, my grandmother who lived to 101 years old. I think memory is my chance to voice on the impact she and others have had on my journey.

Memory is a repsonse to those of the past.. myself and you

LOVE

Music Artists: James Baldwin, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Olafur Arnalds, Lianne La Havas

Being able to love to the fullest. Its about loving myself and what that means. What does it mean to love you, date you, and achknowldege all of the facets of you.

Love is myself

In 2019, Executive Artistic Director, Alexander Jones traveled to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to attend the annual cultural exchange, Holding Common Ground.

With a long pause in programming due to the pandemic, the seminar is returning to its physical presence in August 2024. Alexander Jones and projectALCHEMY have been graciously invited to collaborate with and create an original work for the Lyricist Dance Company. Additionally, the seminar will include panel discussions, performances, and workshops that foster artistic, educational, and cultural exchange between Vietnam and the United States.

We need your help! To travel to Ho Chi Minh City would be an incredible honor, and we must raise funds to get there. Please consider donating to the company as we prepare to take our work overseas! DONATE HERE

Create.Collaborate.Transform.

projectALCHEMY is an international dance+ company based in St. Petersburg, Florida, engaging the dance community and local audiences through immersive interdisciplinary performances, affordable movement classes, and dance artist development opportunities. We share the artistic talent of our community through live performances and online exchanges with dance companies worldwide.

We aim to create a thriving dance+ ecosystem where high-quality dance experiences are easily accessible to artists and audiences. Following the process of alchemy, we value creating through intentional collaboration resulting in the transformation of the artists we work with and the environments we inhabit. We believe diversity in all forms is necessary to spark imagination, provide accessible spaces, and encourage meaningful dialogue about the intersection of the performance content and the audience experience.

We have MERCH! Read our story on Bonfire and check out the different styles we have available. The funds from each purchase will go directly to company programming so we can continue our work in the community. All purchases will ship directly to you in 1-3 weeks! MERCH HERE
